Guru Nanak International Education trust and Welfare Council is a public charitable trust registered in UK. The board of trustees comprises social workers, Corporate Professionals, Entrepreneurs and Educationalist.
Initially its empowered teams are spread over Punjab and Haryana and they play a large role in understanding the complex issues faced by the children belonging to the people below poverty line and persuading the parents to send their children not only in the school run by council but also in other schools. As 40-50% people below poverty line belongs to tribes like Sikligars, Banjaras, Satnamis, Kabirpanthis, Lubanas etc, the focus is on these groups. Later on with the help of organizations doing similar work, the focus will also be on destitute families living across India.
